Baku-Tbilisi-Kars international railway corridor modernization (Azerbaijan)

The project started in 2013 aimed for signaling and communication systems modernization of the Azerbaijani part of the Baku – Tbilisi - Kars international railway transport corridor connecting Europe and Asia.
Scope of work (our Company participated as a subcontractor) included the design, production, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of Computer-based interlocking and other modern signaling and communication systems.
The 253 km long section divided into 2 subsections:
Subsection 1: 13 stations, 12 crossings, 27 crossings, 403 points, 110 km of automatic line block signaling
Subsection 2: 8 stations, 8 crossings, 17 crossings, 182 points, 90 km of automatic line block signaling
In accordance with the schedule agreed with the Azerbaijan Railways, CBI and communication systems were commissioned first on direct current (DC) and then on alternating current (AC).
Additionally, in December 2020, 2 stations and 2 open lines on the Lyaki –Gabala section with a length of 41 km were equipped and put into operation. (6 points, 37 km SALB)
Total scope of modern signaling and communication systems commissioned on the Azerbaijan railway network within the Project includes: 23 stations, 591 points, 44 level crossings, 200 km automatic line block signaling and 37 km of semi- automatic line block signaling.
